How to Transfer into Another Working Station for DepEd Teachers

How to Transfer in Another Working Station for Teachers of DepEd

Are you already tired of traveling a couple of hours in a dangerous mountainous terrain just to report to your school every day? Or you want to be near at your family after years of teaching in far flung and remote schools? Then you need to read this post. Whatever your reason, the Department of Education in whatever Division you are assigned caters the need of the teachers to transfer in a different school in the country. There are ways that you can transfer to another school, which we will discuss later. Like other teachers I was became a teacher assigned in a far flung school in our province. After three years of service I seek to transfer in the nearest school in my home.

This transfer eventually allowed me for a professional transformation in a big school that brings in more opportunities for professional development than in my previous school in far flung mountainous area, where risky travel, hardships, and personal sacrifices were the common story.

If you’re a teacher assigned in a remote school and already rendered at least three years of service, and you’re thinking of seeking to transfer into the another school in the lowlands this is without a doubt your personal decision for professional growth.

Since I transferred to another school near the city, I’ve accomplished many things for my development as a person and a professional teacher. I graduated in my Master’s Degree, and pursue my lifelong learning goals.

I still vividly remembered the day when I pass the Licensure Examination for Teachers, this event draw me nearer to my dream to become a public school teacher who will touch the lives of every learner who will cross my path. Five years ago that dream had a become a reality and my transfer to my present school today help me achieve this dream further, in my recent working station I have an access to the latest educational trends and I have an opportunity to utilize the best instructional innovations for the benefit of my pupils and the happiness being near to your family is a priceless thing in this world.

If you’re thinking of transferring in another school, try to figure out the schools nearest to your place of residency. This will condition your mind of the new working environment, new co-teachers and kind of learners- this will affect your teaching performance when you transferred later.

As a public school teacher assigned near to your home and family will give you the flexibility of time and budget your salary to the fullest. Some people may say that there is no gold in teaching-in short you can’t become wealthy in this profession, but if you’re living a simple life and living happily with your family teaching will give too much for you.

If you want to spend more time with your family after teaching hours, pursue your lifelong learning goals or if your health and safety is at risk travelling those distant schools, I truly believe that seeking to transfer to the school nearest to your residency will help you achieve this. There are ways to transfer into another school from your current working station. I would recommend two legal ways to do this: the first method is swapping with another teacher- this is the surest and fastest way to transfer because if there is another teacher who seek to transfer into the station that you are currently assigned, and on the other hand you are seeking to transfer into his/her school, then you can arrange that both of you will swap your teaching position. However, you must consider that both of you have the same teaching positions (e.g. Teacher-I to Teacher-I). The second method is to submit a letter of intent to transfer in the Division Office and wait for its approval. If you had already decided to transfer into another school just follow this simple step:

Submit a Letter of Intent to Transfer

Seeking to transfer into another school or working station is simple. But you have to consider your length of service-you must be at least three years in service and the urgency or reason why you have to transfer. After all the approval lies in the hands of the Schools Division Superintendent (SDS), the most important thing is you must know where to start and be willing to take the first step.

As a teacher who wants to transfer into another school to be near to your family, sometimes it is doubtful on your own part on how to begin the simple steps.

The best way to learn anything new is to listen from someone else’s experience. It will give you courage to continue your objectives in life because there is someone who had already done such thing in their career. There are so many teachers who are currently planning to transfer into another working station yet afraid to submit a letter of intent to transfer because of the fear that they don’t know any of the DepEd officials who will backup his/her transfer. In reality there is nothing to worry when you submit your intent letter, your school administrator and District Supervisor will guide you accordingly towards this purpose. If you have courage to submit these documents to the proper office, there is nothing for you to worry about.

All you need to do is to take the first step:

Accomplish a letter of intent to transfer address to your Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) stating the reasons of your transfer. Let your school principal or immediate superior sign the endorsement letter (1st Endorsement) to the District supervisor, stating that he/she will forward your request to transfer provided that your item as a teacher will be left vacant for the welfare of the elementary pupils.

The District Supervisor will then sign the second endorsement letter forwarded to the Schools Division Superintendent. At this time the approval of your request lies in the hands of the SDS. As a simple reminder if you are submitting your documents to these offices accomplished this in two copies, be sure that you have a receive copy from them. You can use it as a reference if you follow up the status of your request later.

  1. Good evening po.
