SUMMATIVE TEST

Summative Tests are known as teacher made tests are among the most important tools in evaluating pupil achievement. The main objective of Summative Test is to obtain valid and reliable information with regard to pupils’ performance. Therefore, what can be measured in a Summative Test should be determined and test items must be well constructed aligned to K-12 competencies, in such a way that they will draw out the needed learning outcome in a specific unit. Planning such test includes the specification of the K-12 competencies which the sample test items will represent and the competencies to be measured, considering that the results of the test will be used for instructional purposes. The purpose of Summative Test is to monitor our students learning progress and quantify the extent to which objectives at the end of the instruction have already been achieved by our students.
