Enable Legacy Support - Boot Device Not Found Error Message

SUPPORT INFORMATION. If you are receiving a Boot Device Not Found error message on your K12 Loaner Computer, use the steps below to restore the computer and enable Legacy settings. To prevent this from occurring in the future, it is important to keep your K12 Loaner Computer charged. Please remember to plug in the power cord to charge the K12 Loaner Computer at least once a day!

1. Power on the unit and continually hit F10 on the keyboard to enter the BIOS

2. If prompted, enter password “storocks” without parenthesis



3. Use the right arrow button to highlight System Configuration



4. Use the down arrow button to highlight Boot Options and hit Enter on the keyboard


5. Use the down arrow button to highlight Legacy Support and hit Enter on the keyboard


6. Use down/up arrows to highlight Enabled and click Enter on the keyboard


7. Use left/right arrows to highlight Yes and click Enter on the keyboard

8. Hit F10 on keyboard to Save and highlight Yes to save changes


After completing these steps, the K12 laptop will begin initial boot-up to the main desktop screen

9. Verify the Time on your Computer and in OLS is correct
